Ashley Thompson

Ashley Thompson has an interesting story of paying forward her golf career. She talked to us recent on “WNC Golf Today” on WRGC Radio last week.

When there wasn’t a golf team at Pisgah High School she helped created one. Then she and former Lake Junaluska golf pro Rick Constance created the Lake Junaluska Junior Girls Golf Association that paved the way for several girls to play golf.

“I started playing in the 7th grade and really enjoyed it,” Ashely told us on “WNC Golf Today” radio. “If you feel like you have an interest in golf it is important to seek out a golf professional and go for it.”

Thompson did that where she had earned a scholarship to play golf at WCU. She is now working on becoming a PGA professional and is currently an Assistant Golf Professional at Connestee Falls.
