[mks_dropcap style=”circle” size=”45″ bg_color=”#000000″ txt_color=”#ffffff”]W[/mks_dropcap]hile playing this past weekend at a golf course in Waynesville, I had the chance to think about why fall golf is so enjoyable. There are several reasons, but here are 10 in no particular order. No drum roll available (still miss you Dave & Paul), here are the reasons fall golf rocks …
Price is right: If you check around, there are several good deals on courses to play that will help your wallet and still give you time to enjoy a round.
Not too hot, Not too cold: Yes, there is a bit of a Goldilocks effect here. It isn’t as hot as during the summer and certainly not as cold as the winter. Fall weather is just right!
Scenery & foliage: Without question, the leaf show that Western North Carolina puts on is spectacular. There is no second place. Appalachian State University has a website that helps you follow when things are popping color wise. Click here to visit website with more.

Western North Carolina Courses
There is an abundance of golf courses in Western North Carolina — all with spectacular views — and ones that fit your skill set.
• Course List
Less crowded: Fewer folks on the course and those that are may be a bit more serious about the golf and pace of play. Enjoy!
Excellent time for a lesson: Check with the golf pros at local clubs. The fall could be a great to get on their calendar for a lesson when things aren’t as crazy as the spring and summer.
Attention from a course: From good prices in the pro shop to course workers having more time for personal attention if you are looking for a time to receive plenty of services the fall is it.
Good chance to slow down in a busy season: Fall is a beautiful time but like most of life these days it can be hectic. Why not slow down for three to five hours and enjoy a round of golf. Get outside and enjoy the great game.
Saving best for last: For some golfers, after playing all season the fall can be the best of their games. Why not take advantage and play.
Hot coffee: If you like us here at WNC Golf there is never a bad time for hot coffee, but in the sometimes chilly days of fall the hot coffee and golf combination are especially good.
Winter will be here soon enough: Go now! Those cold days of winter will be here before you know it. Enjoy Fall golf and all Western North Carolina has to offer.
